Your Privacy Matters

Privacy Policy

How Homefront Healing PLLC handles the information you share with us through this website.

Effective date: May 25, 2026

Homefront Healing PLLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at homefronthealingcounseling.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to information collected through this website.

If you are an established client of our practice: Protected Health Information (PHI) and clinical records are governed by a separate Notice of Privacy Practices as required under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which is provided to you at intake. This website privacy policy does not replace that notice.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out the contact form on this website, you may share:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • A brief message describing the issue or reason you're reaching out

You choose what to share. We do not require you to provide sensitive health information on this website — please save detailed clinical information for an in-person or telehealth session through a secure platform.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server may automatically log certain technical information when you visit, such as:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages you viewed and the time of your visit
  • The referring website (if any)

This information is used to operate and improve the site. It is not used to identify you personally.

Cookies

This website may use small data files called cookies for essential functionality (such as remembering whether a menu is open). We do not currently use advertising cookies or sell information to third parties. If we add analytics tools in the future (such as Google Analytics), this policy will be updated to reflect that.

2. How we use your information

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and schedule a consultation
  • Provide the counseling, supervision, or consultation services you request
  • Communicate with you about appointments, billing, and clinical matters
  • Comply with our legal and professional obligations as a licensed mental health practice

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

3. How we share information

We only share information when necessary to provide our services, when required by law, or when you have given us explicit permission. Specifically:

  • Service providers. We work with vetted third-party providers who help us run the practice — for example, secure telehealth platforms, billing platforms (Grow Therapy for insurance billing), and our website's form delivery service. Each of these providers is bound by their own confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Insurance billing. If you use insurance, we share information with your insurer as needed to process claims (billed and managed through Grow Therapy, a HIPAA-compliant virtual mental-health group).
  • Legal obligations. We may disclose information if required by law — for example, in response to a valid court order, or when reporting is required by law (such as suspected child or elder abuse, or imminent threat of harm). These obligations are explained in detail in our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.

4. Email and telehealth communications

Standard email is not a secure channel for sensitive health information. Please do not include detailed clinical details in unencrypted email or web-form messages. For scheduling and basic logistics, email is fine. For anything clinical, our HIPAA-compliant telehealth and patient portal are the appropriate channels.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state or federal law to:

  • Request a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements for mental health practices
  • Withdraw consent to communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.

6. Children's privacy

Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website itself. For clinical services with minors (we see clients age 13 and up with George Boyd, LCSW-S, and clients of all ages with Carrie Cotter, LPC-A), a parent or legal guardian provides informed consent and remains involved in accordance with Texas law.

7. Data security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information you share with us, including HTTPS encryption on this website. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we treat your information with the same care we'd want for our own.

8. Third-party links

This website may link to other websites we don't control (for example, professional associations, insurance portals, or scheduling platforms). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies when you visit them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Substantive changes will be noted clearly. By continuing to use this website after changes take effect, you accept the revised policy.
